Updating a Quest in the Database

It's occured to me that the version of my quest hosted at the database here is horridly out of date compared to the version at PureZC, so I wanted to update it. But I can't find any guide or anything like that explaining how I'd submit an update. What's the procedure for this sort of thing?

Pineconn is probably your best bet. He seems to be around most often these days.

I just tend not to frequent here too often due to the SpamBot infestations.

However, if all you need is an update. Just resubmit the quest with the new file and be sure to let us know its an update somewhere when you submit it.

Russ' Somewhere In Between is listed in the database as a 1.90 quest. it is not a 1.90 quest. here are some others with the same issue:

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I'd like to suggest a better update system. Updating LotH DX reset the ratings and the download counter, which is actually kind of upsetting. Not to mention, having to ask for help on the forums to do something so simple shows an underlying problem. There oughta be an option to update a quest, rather than having to essentially resubmit it.

There is already some work being done in the background to update the QDB and make it a whole lot more user friendly for everyone using many of the ideas you just suggested. It won't happen for a while but just know it's not being ignored. As long as thing stay stable here there are some plans to do some major updating to how ZC.com works and that's a big part of it.

Actually, this shouldn't have happened. It appears instead of a simple update, somebody removed the quest and uploaded it again. I'm about to look at the log and do a test, but I'm almost positive updates don't effect ratings. I apologize for the error--I'll make a note requesting precautions are taken to prevent it in the future.

this is still an issue. none of those quests are for 1.90.

As you notice more, private message them to me or tag my name when you post them. We have a running list of quests that need to be updated/uploaded/etc. We've been working on them for two weeks, but we're shut down right now for maintenance that will be needed for the new site. Thanks.

I'm not sure I'll be noticing more, as I did a fairly thorough search for these quests with that issue. I will let you know if I happen upon others, though.
