    This old chestnut

What screen recording software do you use? Trying to record ZC and I have HyperCam2 but it seems to be very temperamental. I want to record in 60FPS and it plays back at hyperspeed once I'm done recording.

The free version of Active Presenter is more than sufficient for ZC, it's what I used to record the secret level videos for my upcoming quest.

Do NOT use CamStudio though, in recent year, the official site started hosting malware.

Fraps gets the job done for me. It's probably a good idea to to shrink the ginormous files it produces.

Download Lands of Serenity today! You will be knocked comatose by its sheer awesomeness.
The Titan's Quest, best played in the bathroom as the excitement can be somewhat...overwhelming.

Alternatively, you can try Open Broadcast Software, which I'm pretty sure allows you to record without actively broadcasting to anything, though I may be mistaken. You can pick it up at twitch.tv.

Open Broadcaster Software and Bandicam are the best I have seen.
Bandicam is expensive, and OBS is free (plus open source). Both OBS and Bandicam are GPU-based, and mostly for game capturing.

For a lightweight, portable program that is Win7 only, you can try this- but performance is not nearly as great as OBS.

Remember not to run ZC at a high resolution, keep it low!

I have OBS laying around that i use for occasional game streaming and it is indeed pretty swell. yes it can record without broadcasting.

I have a GTX 670 and the fact that OBS has Nvidia NVENC is amazing.
