how long ago did you buy it? take it back to the store, tell them it was defective, and exchange it for a new one. why is common sense so hard for some of you people to figure it? most large stores like target, walmart, etc, regardless of the return policy, will allow you to receive store credit or do an exchange if they sell the item, even without a receipt. unless you (or your parents who most likely bought it) made the mistake of buying it at some shit game store, than you're probably SOL.
edit, to add to my first question in this post, if you bought it years ago, then throw it out and go buy yourself a new one from a target, best buy, wal mart, etc and learn to take better care of your shit.
again, this is just fucking dumb. why not take it back to the store you bought it from and return it for a new one? dishing out more money to the manufacture of the item for "repair costs" is just stupid. if doing this somehow feels morally wrong, you can always check your local craiglist ads. there are almost always unemployed engineers willing to fix busted game systems cheap out of their basement, and you won't have to worry about getting a peice of shit refurbished item back from the manufacture instead of the one you originally sent in. shock that they do that? well it's true.
edit: nevermind, I didn't read the replies enough to see it was already taken care of!
I'd make a joke about saving money on my car insurance, but this isn't something I can easily joke about.

...wait a sec, who edited the topic title?!
You can take the nerd out of 4chan, but you can't take 4chan out of the nerd.
I didn't edit the topic title, but I don't see how it matters who did. I agree it's not a joking matter when something you've paid a significant amount of money for breaks but the way you started this topic off was rather amusing as you made it sound like a matter of life and death.
