    [RC2] Problem with leaving the water

    Link cannot leave the water when heading north or south if the area just to the right of where he is going to go is solid. This only happens with diagonal movement off.

    I'm not too sure whether or not this is really a bug. I think this has always been the case with classic movement. It would seem rather silly to walk off onto a solid combo when leaving water in any direction anyway.

    The thing is, there are many ways to enter the water in this test quest, but only 2 ways to exit it, even though he wouldn't hit a solid combo in the other places where he should be able to exit the water (the solid combo stopping him is just to the right). This behavior apparently appeared in RC1 and didn't exist in Beta 18 or 2.10.

    EDIT: A solid water combo to Link's right will also cause problems this way. I made a small update to the test quest to show this.

    Oh! Now I see what you're talking about. I too saw this behavior when I was piddling around with my own test quest...
    EDIT: I see that you were using solid water combos here. Have you tried it with walkable water? Because this seems to be the case for me even with walkable water.

    The only difference between solid and walkable water that I've noticed is that solid water just to the right of Link's destination interferes with Link leaving the water in the same way a solid combo just to the right does. But yes, it didn't matter if Link was swimming in walkable or unwalkable water in my testing.

    Thanks for shining some light on this issue! I have been playing Hero of Dreams quest and I have gone so far on that game and now I can't complete the windmill maze and heading into a doorway behind the waterfall at the Golden Swamp. Also, I can't even climb up the vines from the water like at Autumn Town. This bug MUST be fixed to complete the Hero of Dreams quest. Thanks!

    This was a side effect of the fix for Link getting stuck on corners while swimming. I've got it working now.

    That is one of the biggest remaining bugs in the game, so it would be good to have a way of testing. :wink:
