Pretty cool and rare, a 1st party Nintendo game has had a prototype build leaked. It's the original LoZ for the Disk System. Read all about it here: http://tcrf.net/Proto:The_Legend_of_Zelda

It was an interesting play. I liked some of the sound effects better, and you can tell they re-used some of them in BS-Zelda later on. I haven't tried the second quest yet, but I read that it's unplayable. :-\
Download Lands of Serenity today! You will be knocked comatose by its sheer awesomeness.
The Titan's Quest, best played in the bathroom as the excitement can be somewhat...overwhelming.

It's unplayable because at the point this prototype is in they hadn't really even started on the second quest. Which makes sense as they had not even fully polished the first quest.
There might be a chance this is fake. Anyone with hacking skills, and photo shop could have done this. It just seems kind of out of the blue.
It's not. I've heard from legitimate sources that it isn't some sort of fake. Also it getting out is not unusual. FDS disks likely weren't kept as tight a hold on as development cartridges would have been.
Prototype zelda, eh? That's actually pretty interesting.

This lead me to snooping around the BS Zelda stuff on that wiki, and then lead to an extremely dated website [it asked FRAMES/NO FRAMES, lol]. Interestingly enough, I checked the guestbook, and VEL signed it back in 1999.
